I just found out that Barbie is releasing a Dia de Los Muertos Doll!! I have been shopping around for calavera items and La Catrina; see I am building up my home altar to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos again this year. Then just yesterday, I stumble upon a friend's facebook post article from Cultura Colectiva with an image of a Barbie's face painted with day of the dead pain! Yep, I am so reading all that there is to read on this!! I am super excited and text my sister Sandra; as Barbie collectors, we need to add this one to our collection! This doll is inspired by the traditional Mexican holiday, this stunning doll features a flaminco-styled dress decorated in printed flowers, a marigold floral crown, and her face is painted as skull. The doll is created to resemble La Catrina from artist Jose Guadalupe Pasada between 1910 - 1913; read more here. The release date is set for September 12, 2019 for $30. I have seen other "preorder" websites selling them for $75. The best bet is to wait for Mattel to have available or look at the local stores to buy! Below are some other images of the doll. I cannot wait to buy and have this beauty displayed in home home. I will be sure to add an update! Who else plans to buy this gem?! Go ahead and comment below. Let me know who you bought her for, give your background, or information on what interests you to Dia de Los Muertos! #barbie #diadelosmuertos #lacatrina #calavera #mexicanculture #traditions #cultura #muertos #mattel
