I just found out that Barbie is releasing a Dia de Los Muertos Doll!!
I have been shopping around for calavera items and La Catrina; see I am building up my home altar to celebrate Dia de Los Muertos again this year.
Then just yesterday, I stumble upon a friend's facebook post article from Cultura Colectiva with an image of a Barbie's face painted with day of the dead pain! Yep, I am so reading all that there is to read on this!! I am super excited and text my sister Sandra; as Barbie collectors, we need to add this one to our collection!
This doll is inspired by the traditional Mexican holiday, this stunning doll features a flaminco-styled dress decorated in printed flowers, a marigold floral crown, and her face is painted as skull. The doll is created to resemble La Catrina from artist Jose Guadalupe Pasada between 1910 - 1913; read more here.
The release date is set for September 12, 2019 for $30. I have seen other "preorder" websites selling them for $75. The best bet is to wait for Mattel to have available or look at the local stores to buy!
Below are some other images of the doll.
I cannot wait to buy and have this beauty displayed in home home. I will be sure to add an update!
Who else plans to buy this gem?! Go ahead and comment below. Let me know who you bought her for, give your background, or information on what interests you to Dia de Los Muertos!

Hi everyone! I know it has been months since I have written on here but a lot has changed in the last six months. I have now settled into my new home and I love it! I continue to work full time as a Social Worker which is only 2 miles from home, yes! I continue to record the RR during my lunch times or after work hours. So, life continues alright. The newest issue involves the need to repair my right knee; I have been Dx with a torn meniscus. I have my surgery scheduled this week and it will be a repair vs removal.
I plan to be out of work to recover but the RR videos will not be so frequent. I can capture about two videos for the month of July (whilst I am driven to my follow ups in Yakima). But my friends and coworkers recommended that I vlog my pre-op and post-op :D! I laughed at that thought and explained that I could not record when I wake up in the ICU, nor look decent to record (oh, the vanity)! They said, that didn't matter, that they want an update and would like me to record and they would definitely watch.
What are your thoughts? Interested in learning my updates?
I guess, I can talk about my experiences and what one can expect...?!
I mean this would be a third torn meniscus repair that I have undergone and each time, it never fails, I am terrified. I DO NOT like to undergo surgery, it terrifies me.
Okay, I think I have answered my question; I can vlog about this in the future.
Thanks Maggie and Blanca.
Until next time, love you all!
I have always been interested in the world of dreams; what do certain dreams mean? Do they have meaning in our waking life?
I thought I would share my weird dream last night. I dreamed that I traveled to Paris where I stayed with an Indian family with two kids in this big house with about eight living spaces that consisted of a living room, family room, sitting areas, kitchen, dining rooms all decorated with couches. I would be staying with them for a while and they provided me with a roof and sleeping quarters. I recall looking for a bedroom to sleep.
